On the last day of 2020 my ROIC since 2002 was 377% The S&P 500 returned 213% for the same period.  Retirement: 50%, Brokerage: 50% At the beginning of February I sold sixty percent of my TSLA shares at $185. Then at the end of February I bought TSLA again at $160, then at $70.  In June I sold forty two percent of my TSLA shares. Then in September I sold thirty six percent of my remaining TSLA shares. At year end my remaining TSLA shares were forty three percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 709%  In November and December I bought TDOC at $196. At year TDOC was seven percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 0.8% In September I bought WORK at $29.1. At year end WORK was my six percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 45% In March I bought SQ at $44.6. On the last day of 2019 my total ROIC since 2002 was 82 % The S&P 500 returned 197% for the same period. Retirement: 63%  Brokerage: 37% In August I bought more PRU at $90. At year end PRU was nineteen percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 14%. In June I bought Tesla (TSLA) at $44, in August at $45, in October at $50, and in December at $67. At year end TSLA was seventeen percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 68%. At year end BRK was seven percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 15%. In September I sold the house that I bought in 2005, netting about one hundred dollars of cash. Total cash at year end was twenty six dollars. I contributed one dollar to my 401K.

On the last day of 2018 my total ROIC since 2002 was  46% The S&P 500 returned 165% for the same period.  In 2018 I bought fifteen dollars of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK), seven dollars of PRU, and contributed four dollars to my 401K. At year end BRK was fourteen percent of my portfolio with a total unrealized gain of 3% The other eighty six percent of my portfolio was in passive funds.

On the last day of 2017 my total ROIC since 2002 was  94% The S&P 500 returned 170% for the same period.  In 2017 I bought six dollars of PRU and contributed four dollars to my 401K. In December I also sold half of my PRU shares, netting nine dollars of cash.

On the last day of 2016 my total ROIC since 2002 was 68% The S&P 500 returned 148% for the same period.  In 2016 I contributed five dollars to my 401K and bought two dollars of PRU.

Investing, 2015 year-end

On the last day of 2015 my total ROIC since 2002 was   53% The S&P 500 returned 136% for the same period.  In 2015 I contributed three dollars to my 401K and bought one dollar of Prudential financial (PRU). This was my first foray into individual stock investing.

On the last day of 2014 my total ROIC since 2002 was 48% . The S&P 500 returned 134% for the same period.  In 2014 I contributed two dollars to a new 401K.
